The word, “trust,” is loaded with meaning. The noun form of the word is defined as something (as property) held by one party (the trustee) for the benefit of another (the beneficiary). That is exactly how Jesus described material possessions. He’s given a trust to each one of His followers. We may hold the property, but it was given to us to use for His benefit. We are the trustee, He is the beneficiary. The verb form of the word is defined as “having confidence or faith in someone else.” We can always trust God—and at times we do. The question is, “Was Jesus right about everything?” If He was, then He should be able to trust us as much as we can trust Him.
